On July 1, Parks Canada is pleased to offer free locks for recreational boaters on the Trent-Severn Waterway in celebration of Canada Day.
The Trent-Severn Waterway provides the perfect setting for an unforgettable Canada Day experience, whether you're looking for adventure, family fun or a relaxing getaway. But please remember these 10 golden rules when out on the water or visiting the green spaces at our lock stations:
- Know your limits – on and on land.
- Dispose of garbage properly.
- Never feed wild animals.
- Please keep your pet on a leash at all times when visiting our green spaces.
- Give wildlife the space it needs.
- Avoid excessive noise.
- When visiting the green areas of our lock stations, please use the marked paths.
- Don't do anything except take photos.
- Be aware of the speed zones on the water and watch your waves and wake.
- Please respect the restricted areas at our lock stations and be careful on the water.
