Actor Woody McClain Teams Up With Black-Owned Comic Book Publisher

Woody McClain has gained some “power” after signing a publishing deal with Godhood Comics, a black-run comic book publisher, for his newly created comic book series. The Brotherhoodwith DC Comics Milestone Initiative breakout writer Dorado Quick.

The Performance Book II: Spirit The actor said, “I’m excited to be collaborating with and bringing something to Godhood Comics The Brotherhood to life.” “It is an honor to work on a project that demonstrates the strength and resilience of the black community. I can’t wait for readers to see what we have in store,” he said in a statement.

The upcoming project will be edited by Nicholas Maye, producer of the Oscar-winning short Two Distant Strangers. He will be doing this alongside Godhood Comics founder, publisher and writer Tyler F. Martin, and the artwork is said to be by illustrabox studio.

The comic series is about a young man who accidentally gets involved in a black men’s secret organization. These men have protected and helped black Americans for generations. According to one statement, it was commonly described as The Kingsman meets James Bond and is an action-packed spy thriller.

Tyler F. Martin, Founder of Godhood Comics, said, “We are very excited to be partnering with Woody McClain The Brotherhood. Given his star power, he could have taken this idea to any major comic book publication, but his passion for storytelling and commitment to elevating black voices further demonstrates his commitment to the betterment of black creatives. We can’t wait to share this series with the world.”

Although no date has been announced, The Brotherhood Release is scheduled for late 2023.

McClain, who played “King of Stage” Bobby Brown BET He currently plays the role of fugitive Cane Tejada in the Starz network series in the documentaries The New Edition Story and The Bobby Brown Story Power Book II: Ghost. He is also a proud HBCU graduate of Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University (FAMU).
