Canada issues dire warning in updated U.S. travel advisory

If you plan to visit the United States shortly, you should check the latest travel counseling update from the Canadian government.

On Friday, Ottawa added a serious warning about entry and exit requirements for Canadians to the south.

“Every country or territory decides who can enter or end its borders, and the Canada government cannot intervene in its name if they do not meet the entry or exit requirements for the United States,” says the advisory lawyer.

It is emphasized that individual US border brokers have “considerable discretion” in order to determine whether they meet the entry or exit requirements and states that the Canadians should expect a review in the entrance ports, including the search for electronic devices.

“Take off in all interactions with border authorities. If the entry is refused, they can be detained while waiting for the deportation,” the consultation says.

The government included a helpful guide if in the worst case they are observed.

At the end of March, Canada published an update about the entry and exit requirements for foreign nationals who plan to visit the United States over a month.

“Canadians and other foreign nationals who visit the United States for more than 30 days must be registered with the United States government,” says the message. “Failure to comply with the registration request can lead to punishment, fines and offenses.”

While many Canucks do not travel south during the trade war, there are still situations where people there have to go to school, work or planned events such as weddings.

Canadians may have a little fear of travel with the disturbing history of a BC entrepreneur who is imprisoned by immigration and customs authorities (ICE) in the USA.
