Local ski racers qualify for Canada Winter Games

Alpine Ontario Alpine (AOA) has announced Team Ontario that will compete at the 2023 Canadian Winter Games. AOA would like to thank all clubs, coaches, officials and volunteers for their contribution to the U16 Mid-Winter Series which ended on February 11th. The series, including two slalom, two giant slalom and one SG race, was the broad qualifier for the Canada Winter Games.

“Unlike other Canadian U16 championships, the Canada Winter Games is a unique experience and aims to give athletes the experience of big games such as the World Junior Championships, World Championships or Winter Olympics. You will be among the best athletes in many sports from across Canada. We wish you the best of luck in the competition and encourage you to embrace and enjoy the overall experience,” said Kip Harrington, Vice President of Excellence at Alpine Ontario Alpin.

The alpine skiing portion of the Canada Winter Games takes place during the second week of the games from February 27th to March 5th. Alpine venues are Crabbe Mountain, NB and Mark Arendz Provincial Ski Park in Brookvale, PEI.
