UrbanToronto thanks all of our new and long-time followers. Below is our growth across all platforms this year:
- TikTok – Almost doubled, from 9,400 to 18,000.
- LinkedIn – Increased from 19,110 to 27,000 and added over 7,000 new followers.
- X (formerly Twitter) – Increase from 51,492 to 52,500.
- Instagram threads – New presence gained around 3,500 followers.
TikTok has risen to the top with eye-catching videos like our coverage of the Eglinton Line 5 Crosstown LRT. At the same time, LinkedIn was experiencing its own remarkable growth as professionals tracked updates on major projects like the lofty goals of the Rail Deck Development proposal. X continued to provide real-time updates, providing quick insight into important developments.
Meanwhile, UrbanToronto, along with many other users with accounts activated, have entered new territory Bluesky and Instagram threads informing audiences about GTA's development in the digital realm.

UrbanToronto continues to monitor the progress and challenges of Canada's first supertall project. Since our post, Tridel has been assigned general contracting duties and construction has progressed steadily, with Forum members busy photographing the construction.

Completion of 2 Queen West – 20,000 impressions
The photographs from our forum caught attention with our post about the completed restoration of 2 Queen West. Originally built in 1895, the site was redeveloped under Cadillac Fairview using designs by Zeidler Architecture and ERA Architects, including over 40,000 bespoke masonry units.

Originally planned as a public park above the Union Station rail corridor, the project has shifted toward a mixed-use development with towers up to 72 stories. Eglinton LRT and Golden Mile Redevelopment – 90,000 views
While the LRT delays tested patience, this TikTok highlighted the line's long-term impact and spurred ambitious plans like the Golden Mile's master-planned community. It includes 11 buildings of up to 48 storeys and would create new housing, public spaces and retail opportunities.
