This R&B king created his own line of BBQ sauces

This Fourth of July, we can talk about Throwback Thursdays. We're reliving a blast from the past – 10 years, to be exact.
Long before Tabitha Brown became the black beauty of spice, a beloved R&B king entered the culinary industry to do his thing. Remember back in 2014 when Bobby Brown introduced his own food line?
At the time, the product launch drew snide looks and jokes on social media, but the jokes didn't land. 10 years later, Brown Brown Foods is still a viable company with barbecue classics and a unique Bobby Brown sauce.
Let's take a look at his journey.

A whole generation considered Bobby Brown the king of the stage. His late wife, Whitney Houston, proudly proclaimed her husband the king of R&B.
Today, loyal fans of the Boston pop singer might call him a barbecue sauce entrepreneur.
The singer and former frontman of New Edition has just launched his own line of Bobby Brown Foods products, including BBQ sauces, seasonings and blends, all made from his own recipes. Available for mass consumption this fall, Bobby's Original BBQ Sauce features flavors like Boston Blend Seasoning and Sweet and Spicy Sauce that are sure to please any palate.
According to ESSENCE, Brown has taken the lead as chef at his establishment. In a statement released by Brown, he makes it clear that he has been a fan of the culinary arts for ages and that we are just catching up.
“I learned to cook a long time ago. When I was younger and under punishment, I had to stay in the kitchen with my mother and learn how to cook. This is nothing new for me, it has been a part of my life for a long time,” he says.
As the pop singer ponders on developing ideas around cooking utensils and cookbooks, the news sparked a great deal of excitement and support.
