Mohali police on Friday seized the property of Canada-based Lakhbir Singh Landa, who allegedly runs a terror network. The property was seized in connection with a Rocket Propelled Grenade (RPG) attack on the headquarters of the Intelligence Wing of the Punjab Police in Sector 77.

In his home village of Kirian in Tarn Taran, Landa’s four-canal land was confiscated by the district police. The district court has already declared him a proclaimed offender (PO) in the case.

DSP (City-2) Harsimran Singh Bal said that the property was seized in continuation of the campaign against the radical elements who were running the terror network from other countries. He said that Landa was the main accused in the RPG attack case and an active member of the Khalistan Tiger Force (KTF).

“So far we have filed charges against 13 accused in this case and one of them was arrested recently. Two more people will be nominated in the case soon,” Bal added.

The attack occurred in May 2021 when two men fired a grenade at the intelligence agency’s headquarters, damaging the building. The attack occurred late in the evening when no one was in the area.

The district court had also allowed the district police to treat a minor defendant in this case as an adult and his trial will be conducted in the district court and not in the juvenile court.
