Owners say Toronto bar won't be reopening and has permanently closed

A Toronto bar known for its covered and gated patio has now closed its doors for good.

Superfly was down a side street in Parkdale but couldn’t be missed for its cool party atmosphere. People wanting to avoid raindrops or recover from the chilly weather headed to the covered patio during food restrictions.

Designed with lots of funky retro themes, it had taken up the space previously occupied by Electric Mud BBQ and now it seems they are passing the torch on to another concept.

They opened and served a menu of cocktail bar food, but later offered a menu featured by fried chicken pop-up Kaboom. They had left the space in late December, around the time the bar decided to temporarily close.

“We closed our doors in January to re-evaluate how we would approach another uncertain year and unfortunately we have decided to keep our doors closed permanently,” the restaurant said in a post on social media.

Many other companies commented on the post, with Halo Brewery, Bangarang, Track & Field and Soos commenting with heart emojis and Sari Not Sari with applause emojis.

“Thanks for all the support,” Woodhouse wrote. “You were all amazing.”
