Reese Witherspoon is opening a library in a Toronto hotel

Reese Witherspoon is opening the first Canadian location of her pop-up library in the lobby of a Toronto hotel this month, and there may even be some Canadian authors featured there.

In recent years, the Oscar-winning actress has expanded her scope of work from in front of the camera to behind the camera with her production company Hello Sunshine and, perhaps more popularly, Reese's Book Club, her monthly book newsletter.

The book club project continues to grow with the launch of the Reese's Book Club Lobby Library, a series of pop-up library spaces in hotel lobbies that exclusively feature Reese's Book Club offerings.

The lobby library effort launched in Los Angeles in October 2023 and is now making its way north of the border, with the first Canadian location set to take up residence in the lobby of the Sheraton Center later this week.

However, the library will not only house books. During the month-long run, numerous events will also take place there, including “Popcorn & Pages” and “Chapters & Charcuterie”, as well as book reviews and author appearances.

This isn't the first time Reese's Book Club has been associated with the city. Toronto-based author Marissa Stapely's “Lucky” has appeared on Witherspoon's list and could soon appear on the shelves of the Lobby Library.

It is not yet known whether Reese Witherspoon herself will appear at the library's opening. The library will be open Friday, January 12, through Sunday, February 11, in the Sheraton Center lobby.
