Google Introduces New Features for Small Business on Maps and Search

There is a lot of information in your online small business profile. And you need to provide that information quickly and accurately. Google makes this possible by providing messaging capabilities and customer information on Google Maps and search.

This new feature is the second part of Google’s effort to make it easier for businesses to update information. In May of this year, the company made it possible to update your company profile directly via maps and search. This time, you can access more Google products and features to connect with your customers and update your business information. And all of this can be done from the same place with direct messaging.

Google Maps and search updates for local businesses

If you are a verified company, you can now message your customers right from the Google Maps app. All you have to do is enable messaging in your company profile. Once enabled, you will be able to reply to customers in Google Maps in the Business Messages section of the Updates tab. In addition, you will be able to see your messages soon right from Google Search and News Customers right from your computer.

Customers can also start a conversation from any post you create. If they try to call you and you don’t answer, they can also message you. For companies using a messaging partner, you can sign up to access the Business Messages API. For more information, see the Google Developer Guide.

As you engage with customers this way, you will undoubtedly generate more data. You can use the updated performance information posted on Search and Maps this summer to get a detailed report on interactions with your customer. The data provided includes a breakdown of calls and messages initiated by customers on Google and the total number of interactions over a period of time.

You can go through the metrics that are provided monthly.

Keep your customers up to date

Even before the pandemic, customers wanted to know more about the companies they do business with. However, there is now a need to obtain more instant and accurate information. Messaging is a way to keep them updated on the latest developments in your company.

The lack of this option is a reason for customers to quickly search for another company.
