Toronto is the biggest: 'Supertalls' that shape the skyline
There are nine “Supertall” developments -buildings 300 or more meters high -that are either planned or are under construction under the construction of Toronto. Whether living or office (some with a mixture of other uses), these projects represent the most ambitious additions to the SkyLine from Toronto with heights and designs that redefine its silhouette in the coming years.

Skytower at Pinnacle One Yonge
The 65-story 217 m-prestige tower was designed by Hariri Pontarini Architects for Pinnacle International and in the first phase of Pinnacle One Yonge and is now completed. The second phase is under construction in the construction of the second phase. SkyTower will rise to 351.85 m and becomes the highest building of Canada, its vertical white stripes, which emphasize its size. In the recent work, the curved increases increased higher, with black RCS-G screens shielded the top floors.

A Bloor West
Tridels One Bloor West, designed from Foster + partner with Core architectsPresent It also recently reached 85 floors when it leads to the last height of 308.6 m and does the first building in Toronto to reach the “Supertall” swell during the construction. Its appearance is defined by eight prominent concrete megacolums, with diagonal brackets support six-blown groups. After the 300 m mark recently passed, the work on the crown is now underway, which will include its coordinated mass deaper, with steel frames being projected via level 85. The cladding will continue to progress behind the black screened RCS.

19 Bloor West
Immediately west of One Bloor West on the southeastern corner of the streets Bloor and Balmuto, reserve Properties and Westdale Properties '19 Bloor West would rise to 317.4 m. The tower designed by Arcadis would join Toronto's growing list of “superstalls” if it was built. Toronto settled with the developers after the original proposal had been revised to remedy the city's concerns about masses, soil size and separation routes. The picture below contains a Bloor West, as if it had been built on 94 floors instead of the 85 floors on which it was built.

Concord Sky
Concord Adex's Concord Sky, designed from Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates with Architects – Alliang As an architect of recordingShould rise by 85 floors and 300.2 m and, as a “superstall” under the council for high buildings and measurement of the urban habitat, qualified from the lowest publicly accessible entrance to the location. The wedge-shaped massing of the tower is covered with a podium with a few inheritis with reflection glass, where the facades of the Gerrard building and Richard S. William Block are held back by the new glazing and framed.

Designed by Gehry Partners with Adamson Associates As an architect of recordingThe East Tower is not a superstall that has moved on 73 floors and 262.8 m and recently reached its 10th floor. The 84-story west tower, nor on sale nor under construction, rises to 308 m and qualifies as “superstall”. In a recently revised application for the west tower, the conversion of the podium mirror from office into residential buildings proposes and increases the number of units from 1,170 to 1,404 suites.

Tower three at Pinnacle One Yonge
The third tower of Pinnacle International in Pinnacle One Yonge, which was designed by Hariri Pontarini Architects, will now increase by 95 floors and 320.35 m after a recently carried out application. The variance is part of the five-tower plan in Toronto's waterfront and tries to add two residential floors and to re-configure part of the mechanical penthouse for the equipment and the mezzanine room, which increases the ceiling height in premium units on the upper floor to 3.25 m. These changes keep the approved masses and setbacks of the tower, whereby its profile is further increased to the “Supertall” category.

College Park renovation
The College Park-Sanoration, which was designed by Hariri Pontarini Architects with Heritage Work by ERA Architects for GWL Realty Advisors, added three towers with the highest at 96 floors to 333.3 m and superstall status over a restored and expanded 12-story podium. The plan honors the art-modern and art deco note built in 1930 in Yonge and College, revitalizes the cultural heritage shopping arcade and expands the venue in Carlu. In 236,304 m² GFA, the project 2,334 new residential units, 24,861 m ² office space, 21,380 m² retail, an 18,801 m² hotel, cultural uses and a daycare center would deliver.

Union Park
The Union Park of Oxford Properties Group, which contains three residential towers designed by Hariri Pontarini Architects and a Supertall Office Tower designed by Pelli Clarke Pelli, around 61 floors and 303.33 m on the front street West. The recently revised plan from Union Park replaced a shorter office tower with the third residential buildings with 1,793 rental units via retail, the daycare center and two pops (publicly accessible rooms in private ownership). It is not clear whether the office tower of 138,675 m² survives a gradual redesign of the complex. Without a specified design date, the project remains a long -term proposal that could progress after improving market conditions, including the vacancy rates in the city center of office valley opportunities.

191 Bay
191 Bay The Quadreal Property Group is a proposed 64-story office tower, which reaches 301.74 m on the roof and 374.15 m to the top of the tower. The tower was designed by Hariri Pontarini Architects with Adamson Associates as architect of record and would replace the existing buildings of the trading court in South and East buildings with 148,671 m² of office space and 14,530 m² retail to Torontos Skyline from Toronto's Financial District District. The project also has no defined construction period and is another long -term view as soon as the market for commercial office space needs more space.

There are several other proposed and approved new office towers for Toronto, and while the rest do not reach Supertall Heights, it is possible that another may continue in the coming years if the absorption rate of the office space may continue and require even more new triple-A areas. In the meantime, the residential towers are also ready with the fighter of the condominium market to bring Torontos Skyline into the Supertall stratosphere.
Urbantoronto will continue to follow progress in these developments. In the meantime, however, you can find out more about you from our database files linked below. If you want, you can join the conversation in the associated forum threads or leave a comment in the room provided on this page.
