Berger was a Holocaust survivor who immigrated to Canada in 1949 and acted as a long-time council member in Toronto. He was a strong advocate of Affordable and Seniors' Housing and played a central role in setting up the Holocaust monument in Earl Bales Park.

The Milton Berger Park extends over 2,580 m² and provides a number of amenities that are supposed to support the neighborhood meetings. A central path organizes the site, combines seating areas, plants of beds and an open lawn with programmed rooms with a children's playground, sculptural water feature and an outdoor fitness zone. The park's layout aims to compensate for active and passive rooms in order to create an inviting backdrop for residents and visitors.

“It was unbelievable to see that more than 500 people come together to celebrate the opening of Milton Berger Park,” said Jennifer Keesmaat, President and CEO of Collecdev-Markee Developments. “One of the most significant moments was to meet a group of mothers who had recently moved into the Tretti district as newcomers in Canada. They told us that they met in the park, formed the group of a mother and now gather with their children. Stories remind us that we are really created, where people can belong and thrive.”

The park is part of the larger Tippett Park Development, a collecting of Collecdev brand, which has introduced more than 500 new houses in the larger area of Wilson Heights. In the core there are two residential buildings designed by GH3: Tretti owner apartments in 30 Tretti Way, a 13-story condominium with 340 units and the adjacent 16-story rental building in 18 Tretti Way, which adds 176 specially built rental apartments. Together they deliver 516 houses, including 50 affordable rent and 50 affordable property units, which expands both the market and the accessible housing options within the municipality.

Apart from the apartment, the development includes a mixture of retail and amenities, whereby 1,056 m² of retail surfaces activate the floor level. The project also includes a strong sustainability agenda with geo-exchange systems that are supplied by geosource energy and diverso energy, which reduces the dependence on conventional energy sources.

The new park and the residential buildings contribute to the continuous transformation of the area around the Wilson station, where former parking spaces and light industrial applications of medium-sized, transit-oriented development give way. The Tippett Park is located south of the Wilson Avenue and climbs from the station from the train station and contributes to a group of contemporary residential projects, including Collecdevs nearby Nordic condominiums, all part of the relocation to a more networked and livable neighborhood.
