Lizzo’s modern house
More than a year after listing her Beverly Hills, California, mansion, singer Lizzo finally found a buyer, although the $11.15 million purchase price was well below what she paid four years ago.
Lizzo, whose real name is Melissa Viviane Jefferson, bought the home in 2022 for $15 million from Warner Records executive Aaron Bay-Schuck. Shortly thereafter, in late 2024, she put it back on the market for $15.99 million. Her final price was $12.5 million.
The 5,442-square-foot contemporary building sits on nearly one-third of an acre in a gated community and offers expansive canyon and hillside views. There are three bedrooms and five bathrooms, as well as a private studio and theater room.
Amenities include a saltwater infinity pool, a fitness center, and an outdoor kitchen with a fire pit.
James Harris of Carolwood Estates is the real estate agent.
Jesse McCartney’s contemporary
Pop singer and actor Jesse McCartney and his wife, actress Katie Peterson, have listed their Los Angeles home for $2.795 million.
The three-story, modern home in the Laurel Canyon neighborhood is approximately 3,600 square feet and features high ceilings and skylights. There are three bedrooms and three bathrooms. The master suite features two large walk-in closets, a fireplace and a sauna. And on the landscaped grounds there is a pool and a hot tub.
Melanie Haschek and Bryce Pennel of Pennel Group at Douglas Elliman Real Estate have the listing.
HGTV Home Sellers
Ken Lowe, founder of HGTV, and his wife Julia Baker Lowe are selling their gated estate on Sea Island, Georgia. The asking price: $42 million.
The magnificent home, which they called “Lowe Tide,” was built in 2021 on three-quarters of an acre of land directly on the Atlantic Ocean. It is approximately 11,000 square feet and has five bedrooms, nine and a half bathrooms and separate staff quarters. Featuring a Parisian-inspired aesthetic, the entire space features high-quality finishes such as Italian marble, limestone and wood paneling.
The property also features an outdoor quatrefoil-shaped pool, a putting green, a bocce ball court and a rooftop terrace. And there is a four-car garage.
Susan Imhoff of Sotheby’s International Realty is the agent.
Jeff Green makes a sale
Jeff Green, a forward for the Houston Rockets basketball team, sold his mansion in Pinecrest, Florida, a suburb of Miami, for $15.5 million, $1 million below the asking price.
Mr. Green had the two-story, 10,400-square-foot home built in 2022. Sitting on just over an acre, it has seven bedrooms and six and a half bathrooms, as well as two laundry rooms, a theater, a gym, and game and play rooms.
Outdoor features include a screened summer kitchen, pool and of course a lighted basketball court.
There is also a four-car garage and a full generator for South Florida’s tropical storms.
Tori Schrager and Lauren Schrager of Brown Harris Stevens have the list.
Ken Griffin’s latest purchase
Hedge fund manager Ken Griffin has reportedly added another property to his ever-growing real estate portfolio: a semi-detached home on Manhattan’s Upper East Side.
The co-op apartment, which apparently sold for $38 million in an off-market deal, is located at 740 Park Avenue, the venerable prewar building whose prominent residents included John D. Rockefeller, Vera Wang and David Koch.
The duplex covers approximately 7,500 square feet on two full floors and has five bedrooms and five and a half bathrooms as well as three wood-burning fireplaces.
Mr. Griffin, who reportedly owns an adjacent semi-detached home in the building, has a real estate portfolio valued at $1.5 billion. This also includes a penthouse apartment in Central Park, which he bought in 2019 for a record-breaking sum of $238 million.
The Wall Street Journal was first to report the sale.
Chris Christie crosses the Hudson
Former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and his wife Mary Pat Christie paid $1.5 million for a Manhattan co-op.
They bought the loft-like unit in the Gramercy Park neighborhood, completely renovated. The home features two bedrooms, two full bathrooms and high ceilings.
Mr. Christie, who now runs a consulting firm, and Ms. Christie, an investment banker, have their primary residence in Mendham, New Jersey, and also own a beach house on the Jersey Shore.
Listing agent Christine Miller Martin of Compass declined to comment on the sale.
