Council granted development injunction - Yahoo News Canada

An injunction has been obtained to stop a suspected unauthorized website targeting travelers in Essex.

Harlow Council was made aware of a development on private land at Barrows Farm Cottage on Thursday.

It said it had found construction work for which there was no planning permission, which appeared to be for caravans, and sought an injunction from the Supreme Court.

Dan Swords, council leader, said the authority took a “zero tolerance approach to unauthorized development”.

The interim injunction requires all work to be stopped immediately.

Swords said: “This matter is being treated with the utmost seriousness and the council has acted quickly and decisively.”

“There is a statutory planning process in place to protect residents and communities that must be followed by everyone. No permission has been sought, no approval has been granted and there has been no engagement with the council.”

“Anyone who thinks they can get around the planning system in Harlow is mistaken.

“We will act immediately and with the full force of the law and take all necessary measures to protect our city and our residents and comply with the law.”
