Jasmine Logan, a 34-year-old African American mother from Detroit who was infected with COVID-19 while giving birth to twins, has finally awakened from a medically induced coma after more than two weeks.

Her husband, Steven Logan, is grateful that Jasmine’s condition appeared to be improving as she was also taken off the ventilator. She must undergo physical therapy and speech therapy before she can be discharged from the ECMO. Steven remains confident that his wife will make it.

“I know that she will muster the strength with the prayers we have been given! We claim this victory and have all the faith that God will deliver. From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU, “wrote Steven on a GoFundMe page.

Steven, who works as a truck driver, couldn’t go to work as he has to look after her 5 children including her newborn twins. Her 6-year-old daughter and two 2-year-old twins have also signed COVID-19.

With the help of some friends, Steven started the GoFundMe campaign to raise funds for her family’s financial needs such as bills, groceries and baby items. More than $ 120,000 has been raised to date.
