There's a hidden hanging staircase in a Toronto office building, and it may be one of the city's best-kept secret art installations.
Toronto is full of hidden gems, from restaurants to parks, and that's what makes it so special.
However, every now and then a hidden gem like this pops up that people can't get enough of, and that's the case with this truly dazzling art installation.
While you can expect to find cool art in the lobbies of many Toronto office buildings, Suspended Stairway 1986 by Joshua Kalfa is absolutely next level.
The artwork spans the expansive atrium of 36 Toronto Street and depicts giant bronze women ascending the stairs (also made of bronze) suspended in mid-air.
Kalfa, a Toronto-based artist, works with steel to create his works, often depicting animals or everyday human scenes (a man on a bench, clothes drying on a clothesline) with his unique artistic eye.
The best part? It's completely free to see for yourself.
The installation sits peacefully in the lobby of the building. As long as you are respectful to the people who work there, you can enjoy the spectacle yourself.
