The general public and investors have something in common these days: they don't have much love for both Tesla Or CEO Elon Musk.
Tesla's share has undergone a corresponding sale, and the CNBC All-America Economica Survey shows that more than 47% of the public has a negative overview of the company. Another 27% are positive for the electric vehicle manufacturer, while 24% are neutral. This is compared to a third of the public that has a positive view General Motors With 51% neutral and 10% negative.
Tesla was put under pressure that his founder's controversial political activities could alienate potential buyers in reducing the government's employment and support from President Donald Trump and the Republican. Protests were created across the country in the Tesla offices.
The survey showed that Musk is a highly polarizing number. Half of the public has a negative overview of musk compared to 36%that see it positively and 16%that are neutral. Among the Democrats is Musk's net permit (positive minus negative) -82 and -49 for independent. GOP -sought -after are +56.
The biggest problem for Tesla could be that many groups that are potential customers are much more positive compared to electric vehicles than through the company.
“Where Tesla is the most, it is least an EV probability,” said Micah Roberts, partner in public opinion strategies, the Republican striker for the survey.
A total of 35% of the Americans are negative for EVS and 33% are positive. However, men are +11 in the EVS's net permit, but evenly divided into Tesla. Young people between the ages of 18 and 34 are +19 on EVS, but -23 on Tesla. The gap is the most blatant among the Democrats, which are at EVS, but -74 at Tesla, +20.
Other more difficult: Republicans are strongly positive for Tesla, but negative for electric vehicles.
The survey of 1,000 people across the country was carried out from April 9th to 13th and has an error rate of +/- 3.1%.
Tesla did not immediately answer a request for comment.
