British Columbia, Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Prince Edward Island have nominated candidates in the latest Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) draw results.
Provinces nominate candidates through the PNP if they believe the candidate can easily integrate into the local workforce and contribute to the provincial economy. Receiving a PNP nomination means a candidate has a much stronger application when applying for permanent residency with Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

Provinces can nominate candidates as immigration is a shared responsibility of IRCC and provincial governments. Each year, IRCC sets a target in the federal immigration tier plan for the total number of candidates who can obtain permanent residency through the PNP. The ministry further breaks down this number into nomination allocations for each province. The number of PNP allocations a province receives depends on several factors, such as existing population and labor market needs.
Provincial immigration results December 19-29
British Columbia
On December 19, British Columbia invited 230 BC PNP professional and international graduate candidates to apply for provincial nomination.
The invitations were given out in four raffles for specifically in-demand professions.
The biggest draw was for technical professions. The province invited 107 candidates with a minimum score of 95. In addition, 32 candidates in a construction trade with a minimum score of 75 were drawn.
Twenty-nine candidates from health professions and 62 early childhood educators and assistants were invited to the remaining two draws. Both draws had a minimum score of 60.
Manitoba
On December 21, Manitoba held the first of three Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) draws for overseas professionals. The province invited 1,113 candidates with a minimum score of 601.
The next draw was held on December 28th and invited candidates to three separate draws in three categories. The province invited 160 skilled workers in Manitoba with a close relative in the province. The relative must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident and have lived in Manitoba for at least one year. The minimum score for candidates in this draw was 612.
The province also invited 67 international education candidates and 27 overseas professionals with a minimum score of 698. Skilled talent candidates from overseas were invited as part of a strategic recruitment initiative.
Finally, on December 29, the province issued 89 invitations to apply to candidates who met the criteria of the special measures for Ukraine. These candidates also met the criteria for Skilled Workers Overseas and have a close relative in Manitoba.
Saskatchewan
On December 27, Saskatchewan invited 63 candidates to the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP). It was the first SINP draw since October 23rd.
The province conducted draws in two categories, including 48 in-demand occupation candidates and 15 Express Entry candidates. In both drawings, candidates required a minimum score of 69 and an assessment of their educational credentials.
Prince Edward Island
Prince Edward Island invited 26 Labor and Express Entry candidates from the PEI PNP. To be considered, candidates had to work in healthcare, construction and food processing.
Three candidates with a minimum score of 92 were also invited from the “Business Work Permit Entrepreneur” category.
