This two bedrooms, two bathrooms, straw roof in 1802 was built as a fishing house in Lyngby-Taarbaek, a municipality on the edge of Copenhagen.

About eight miles north of Zentralkopenhagen, the Taarbak district was a fishing village that developed into a popular summer destination and a spa city in the 19th century, which was partly driven by the construction of its port and a railroad. Today it is a calm, wealthy neighborhood with luxury villas along the Waterfront Avenue called Strandvejen.

The house is steps from the harbor on the water and a sailing club, with a bakery and a deli just around the corner. The village has a market, a school, sports clubs, bank and other amenities. In the larger community of Klampenborg, about a mile south, you will find a wider range of offers.

In the west there is Dyrahaven (or “Deer Park”), a UNESCO World Heritage Site that offers a forest with free deer, an old amusement park called Bakken and the historic Hermitage Royal Hunting Lodge. There are also two restaurants nearby, the cottage and the Gule Cottage, which occupied two buildings from the 19th century, which were part of the former Klampenborg spa.

Copenhagen Airport is about 15 miles south of Taarbak.
