West of Toronto In the core of Milton, known locally as Old Milton, Mikmada Homes, doing business as Slessor Square LP, is seeking land use and zoning changes to allow for two residential towers of 16 and 18 stories. Designed by KNYMH Architects, the mixed-use project at 388 Main Street East would occupy an entire block bounded by Main, Prince, Pearl and Bruce streets. The proposal is located at the Downtown Milton Urban Growth Center and joins other redevelopment efforts west of the Milton GO station.

The 0.58-acre site consists of seven parcels: 388 Main Street E, 17 Prince Street and five parcels from 389 to 409 Pearl Street, with a mix of single-family homes and a commercial plaza. The surrounding Old Milton neighborhood features historic storefronts and mid-century homes and mid-rise buildings.

Arcadis has submitted official plan and zoning ordinance amendment applications to the City of Milton on behalf of the developer. The proposal calls for a pair of 16 (57.8 m) and 18 (63.18 m) storey residential towers rising on a six-story U-shaped podium. Of the 53,792 m² gross floor area, 815 m² would be commercial space on the ground floor facing Main and Bruce streets, while duplex-style residential units would face Prince and Pearl streets, with an area index of 9.37 times coverage. The development would deliver a total of 570 residential units. Each tower would contain three elevators, or one per 95 units, indicating reasonable operating hours.
The housing mix includes 509 one-bedroom floor plans and 61 two-bedroom floor plans, some with dens, while the duration — whether condo or rental — has yet to be determined. Construction is planned in two phases: Phase 1 is located on Bruce Street and includes 278 units, followed by Phase 2 along Prince Street with a further 292 units.

1,124 m² of outdoor space is planned, supplemented by 2,297 m² of private balcony space. Parking would be in a three-story underground garage with 417 spaces. 311 long-term bicycle parking spaces, 32 short-term parking spaces and 232 bicycle lockers are available for cyclists.
Located about 1 mile west of the Milton GO station, about a 20-minute walk or 7-minute bus ride, the Milton Line connects the city to downtown Toronto. Locally, several rural roads connect the area to regional transportation systems in Brampton and Mississauga. There are also bike lanes on Main Street East.

The proposal is part of increasing intensification in the central area of Milton. To the east, an eight-story building is planned at 72 Ontario Street. Further northeast, the Millhouse Condominiums are under construction with three towers ranging from 15 to 19 stories. Proposals include 155 Nipissing Road with 19 floors, 560 Main Street East with 17 and 20 floors, and Stationside with towers of 19 and 23 floors. Closer to the station, 700-706 Main Street East is proposed as three towers ranging from 23 to 27 stories.
