Rye uses her various platforms to advance conversations about social justice and racial justice.
Angela Rye has created her own path to inspire change by bridging media, politics and social justice on her massive platform.
A 2026 Luminary Award nominee for Black Enterprise’s Women of Power Summit, Rye is highlighted for her influence and reach as Director/CEO of IMPACT Strategies. The crisis management company does more than just public relations; It is changing the landscape of traditional institutions that often shun diversity. IMPACT’s professional development program has fostered a pipeline of diverse talent leading governments, corporations and nonprofit organizations.
Its success is shaped by Rye and her own mission to use her voice to change industry and society for the better. Her passion lies in political engagement and change, and she uses her State of the People coalition to provide assistance, education and empowerment to vulnerable communities.
The media anchor and attorney began her career in coalition building and political strategy by serving as executive director and general counsel of the Congressional Black Caucus. Since then, she has been a legal analyst and podcaster at Native Land Pod, helping everyday people navigate an ever-evolving political landscape.
As a pioneer in the media space, Rye continues to lend her voice across multiple platforms, co-founding Reason Choice Media with co-founders Lenard “Charlamagne tha God” McKelvey and Chris Morrow. A former CNN contributor, she has become a go-to source for holistic political insights and serves as a special correspondent for ESPN for segments that integrate race, politics and sports.
An advocate for Black advancement in politics, academia and beyond, she serves on the boards of several institutions, including Wilberforce University, the Congressional Black Caucus Institute and the Black Futures Lab. A self-proclaimed “empowermenter,” her work also encourages advocates across industries to speak up and drive change in their sectors.
This cultural commentator continues to shape the conversation about racial justice, social justice, and the U.S. political climate, empowering others to remain civically engaged and critically informed. She will also join a cohort of distinguished trailblazers at BE’s Women Of Power Summit in March. Registration for this inspiring event is now open.
