Diamon-Mazairre Robinson reportedly had an active federal arrest warrant for impersonating a police officer.
A former security guard for Jasmine Crockett was fatally shot during a standoff with police in Dallas.
The alleged fake cop went by the alias Mike King and reportedly had an extensive criminal background. CBS News Texas reported that the man’s real name is Diamon-Mazairre Robinson and that he was recently a member of the U.S. House of Representatives security team.
A federal investigation into Robinson led to a standoff with the Dallas Fugitive Unit, which had an active arrest warrant for the “wanted suspect” for allegedly impersonating a police officer. The man has had numerous misdemeanor and felony charges in the past.
Robinson was reportedly arrested seven times for theft, all between 2009 and 2012. However, he began using an alias to start several businesses, including helping off-duty police officers find security jobs.
His criminal past came to a head during the March 11 crime. Officers discovered Robinson barricading himself in a vehicle parked at Children’s Medical Center in Dallas.
CBS News reported that officers used tear gas to lure Robinson from the vehicle. However, things escalated further when Robinson got out of the car and pointed a gun at the officers.
During a press conference shared on social media, Chief Daniel C. Comeaux of the Dallas Police Department confirmed that Robinson died during the standoff.

Before his death, Robinson also supervised security teams at hotels in downtown Dallas and at his local church, using his alias to impersonate a police officer. Despite his criminal background, Robinson managed to gain access to the high-profile security gig with the US elected official.
Robinson worked with Crockett just this year. The local news outlet confirmed his identity in pictures with the congresswoman during her run for US Senate. However, neither Crockett nor her press team have released a comment on Robinson’s alleged double life and subsequent death.
