The University of Toronto is about to complete a new residence that relieves the pressure for student apartments near his campus of St George. The OAK House Student Residence rises in Harbord Village on the northwestern corner of Spadina and Sussex Avenues and brings a 23-story tower and a three-story city town to a location that is anchored for a long time that has recently lived in the bookshop.

The tower was designed by Diamond Schmitt Architects with Heritage Conservation under the direction of ERA Architects and was developed by the university in cooperation with the Daniels Corporation. Urbantoronto recently delivered an update in July 2023 when the tower had recently gone up.
In May 2024 from Sussex Avenue, the construction continued at the road level, whereby the work focused on the southern height of the podium. An articulating interpreter lift is used by crews that install the elements of the outer cladding. In addition to warm gray concrete fins, the podium shows with a smooth finish with brick faces with a smooth finish. The scaffolding is wrapped around the reserved facade on the southeastern corner. On the left, the separate town house component with white weather protection is visible, which line the concrete balconies, while the construction heating is bound to the middle of the west height.

By October 2024, the buildings were completely dismantled and replaced by cladding. A staggered arrangement of glazing and bricks can be seen over the facade, which is articulated all two floors of concrete straps. The tower shows the brick veneer in an upright soldier binding pattern, while the townhomes are disguised in an unbound stack of binding patterns.

The tower is out of the north on a snow-capped February and asserts itself within the corridor and joins the neighboring 25-storey 666 Spadina as one of the highest in the immediate vicinity. The two -volume massical of the tower shows that the northern section is positioned closer to the Spadina Avenue, and the southern volume resigned to preserve the awareness of the cultural work.

A perspective recorded in March 2025 in the Spadina Avenue shows most of the scaffold that was removed from the Heritage building. On the right, a glazed curtain wall system rises through the middle of the tower and forms a two-story unveiling between the podium and the upper floor.

This month, the final thesis along the Spadina Avenue Frontage continues, with the sidewalk and the street landscape currently excavated and fenced for improvements. A telescopic boom with its increased basket is stationed on the right. The brick podium extends to the edge of the fresh second stage, while in the foreground the painted wood cornice and decorative cladding of the Heritage facade above the southeastern input are visible.
