Heritage Toronto Announces 2025 Built Heritage Award Nominees

Heritage Toronto announced the candidates for his 50th annual Heritage Toronto Awards and celebrated a half -century work in the preservation and interpretation of the city's history. The awards presented by Aird & Berlis emphasize contributions in book, public history and buildings.

This year's Heritage -nominated, nominated, show a variety of projects, from facade restorations to adaptive reuses. Up to three projects from the category are selected so that the awards are presented on October 20 together with the winners in the other categories.

2 Queen Street West
In Yonge and Queen, the outside of 2 Queen Street West was restored to 1896 with more than 40,000 replica bricks, stone and terracotta pieces. The project was designed by ERA Architects and Zeidler Architecture for Cadillac Fairview and adds a modern three -story glass additive.

321–333 King Street West – Restoration of Maverick Condos facade
The restoration of 321–333 King Street West integrates the Hughes terrace from 1856 and the 1885 Gardner Boyd Buildings into the Maverick owning apartment. Empire Communities worked with GBCA architects and Clifford restoration to rebuilding facades, repair stone corn and reconstruct chimneys and leaves.

Deer Park Presbyterian Church
The Presbyterian Church of the Deer Park was adapted to a restaurant and event room and at the same time its Gothic facade from 1912 was preserved. Era Architects and HRI Heritage Restoration preserved the outdoor area of ​​stone and terracotta, repaired slate roofs and restored stained glass and wooden doors.

Fitzgerald building at the University of Toronto
The Fitzgerald building at the University of Toronto, a role brand by Georgian, is now a modern administrative center. ERA and RDH architects directed upgrades that restored the outer interior, and added efficient systems, a new college street input and a terrace.

Immical
In Yonge and Grosvenor, the immisch quadreal property Group combines a rent tower with 451 units with recovered cultural engines. Architects-alliance and Era architects retained the facade from 1864 in 480 Yonge and the 19th century Clock Tower in 484 Yonge, supplemented by a glass ghost facade that is reminiscent of the former fire hall.

John Howard Mausoleum
John Howard Mausoleum in High Park, designed by Toronto's first professional architect, was stabilized after decades of weathering. Spencer R. Higgins Architect Inc. and Clifford Restoration rebuilt the finial and pediments, reinforced the pile of stone and preserved limestone and marble details.

Snider House
Snider House, built in 1828, is North Toronto's oldest surviving at home and is now being restored by Giannone Petricone Associates with ERA architects. The facade was set again with masonry and verands, while a glass back added the original brick to create bright interior.

St. Lawrence Market North Salvage
At the St. Lawrence Market North, Rogers Stirk Harbor + partner with Adamson Associates Architects is integrated into the new building. The Clifford restoration preserved the drains and foundations, which were reinstalled from the glass floor as visible features of the modern market.

Toronto French School – Conservation of the Window Protection inheritance
In the Lawrence Avenue East 318, part of the Toronto French School, 13 original leg and lead glass windows were preserved. Glasses restored broken glasses restored glass triptychs and colored blur windows in wooden and metal frames and hold historical fabric along the south facade.
