Mark Zuckerberg Breaks a Record With His Florida Home Purchase

For several weeks, Mark Zuckerberg and his wife Priscilla Chan have been spotted house hunting throughout South Florida, particularly on Indian Creek, an exclusive barrier island north of Miami that locals call the “billionaires’ bunker.”

Now it seems the couple has finally pulled the trigger and reportedly purchased a property in Indian Creek that is still under construction. The closing price: $170 million, making it the most expensive sale in Miami-Dade County history. The sellers are Dr. Aaron Rollins, a plastic surgeon, and Marine Rollins, a real estate agent; They put the unfinished property on the market in November with an asking price of $200 million. The Wall Street Journal first reported on the sale.

The site, expected to be completed this year, covers 1.8 acres with 200 feet directly facing Biscayne Bay. The centerpiece, a 27,889-square-foot limestone home designed by architect Ferris Rafauli, will have nine bedrooms, 11 bathrooms and four powder rooms, as well as an elevator.

A representative for Mr. Zuckerberg, the chief executive of Meta, Facebook’s parent company, and Ms. Chan declined to comment. The couple’s primary residence is in Palo Alto, California, and they own several other properties across the country. Neither listed agents Jill Hertzberg and Danny Hertzberg of Coldwell Banker Realty nor the buyer’s agent, Brett Harris of Bespoke Real Estate, would comment on the sale other than to say it has closed. Both sides referred to confidentiality agreements.

Mr. Zuckerberg is the latest in a line of ultra-wealthy buyers drawn to South Florida, many drawn to the region’s tropical and tax-friendly climate. Prominent residents of the Indian Creek gated community included Jeff Bezos, Tom Brady, Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner.

Chris Hughes, co-founder of Facebook with Mr. Zuckerberg, is selling the Washington, D.C., home he shares with his husband, political activist Sean Eldridge. Their asking price is $8.75 million.

The six-bedroom, six-full- and two-half-bathroom home, which the couple purchased in 2021 for $7.8 million, is located in Washington’s Kalorama neighborhood, home to former presidents, diplomats and other notable residents.

Built in the early 20th century, the Romanesque-style structure spans 0.15 acres and features approximately 8,800 square feet of interior space on three main levels plus a finished lower level with a gym and wine cellar. It is also equipped with an elevator.

The landscaped rear garden features a dining area, fire pit, built-in grilling station, pergola and fountain. Marin Hagen and Sylvia Bergstrom of Coldwell Banker Realty are the real estate agents.

Ivana Trump’s five-story Manhattan townhouse, where she lived for three decades after her divorce from Donald Trump, is finally sold. The closing price was $14 million, a significant discount from the $26.5 million originally targeted at the end of 2022, a few months after Ms. Trump’s death in the home.

The 20-foot-wide limestone house was built in 1879 in the Upper East Side’s Lenox Hill neighborhood, less than a block from Central Park. It is 8,725 square feet and has five bedrooms and five and a half bathrooms, as well as a 700 square foot real garden.

Mrs. Trump bought the house from architect Francois de Menil in 1992, financing the purchase with a $2.4 million mortgage and then carrying out extensive renovations. She adorned the well-proportioned rooms with Rococo splendor, using lavish finishes and decorations including crystal chandeliers, custom paneling, Chinese murals, and lots of marble and gold, not to mention leopard print.

Adam D. Modlin of Modlin Group and Roger Erickson of Douglas Elliman Real Estate handled the listing on behalf of Ms. Trump’s estate. Mr. Modlin also represented the anonymous buyer.

British property developer Christian Candy and his wife Emily Crompton-Candy received $55 million for their large Manhattan townhouse – significantly less than the $70 million they originally sought, but still above their $48 million purchase price in 2022.

The Beaux-Arts building, with bas-relief carvings on the limestone facade, was built in the early 20th century and is a few blocks from Ivana Trump’s townhouse.

The five-story, 25-foot-wide home has nearly 15,000 square feet, including six bedrooms and 14 bathrooms, eight of them full. The master suite spans the entire third floor and features two private bathrooms, a wood-paneled library, a gas fireplace and a large dressing room.

On the lower level there is a gym, sauna, steam room and massage room. (Other amenities include a wine cellar, home office, laundry room, and tiled dog-washing station.) A rooftop terrace offers areas for relaxing and dining under a cedar pergola, a full kitchen, and views of nearby Central Park. And yes, there is an elevator.

The listing broker was Adam D. Modlin of Modlin Group.

However, the Candys don’t leave New York. They bought a triplex penthouse on Billionaires’ Row in Midtown for $46.9 million last year.

Mr Candy and his brother Nick Candy were behind the development of One Hyde Park, a luxury residential and retail complex in London

In his latest real estate move, Fox News host Sean Hannity has put his waterfront estate in Manalapan, Florida, up for sale for $44.9 million.

Mr. Hannity owns numerous properties throughout the country. He bought the Florida home south of Palm Beach in late 2024 for $23.5 million after selling his Oyster Bay, NY, estate earlier that year.

The six-acre Manalapan property sits directly on the Atlantic Ocean and the Intracoastal Waterway and features a private dock. It features a nearly 13,000-square-foot Mediterranean-style mansion built in 1990 and a beachfront guesthouse with a total of eight bedrooms and ten and a half bathrooms.

There’s also a pool and several terraces, each with water views.

Nicholas Malinosky and Jessica Julian of Douglas Elliman are the listing agents.

Actors Justin Baldoni and his wife Emily Baldoni have put their 10-acre estate in Santa Paula, California, up for sale for $8.8 million. The couple, who have reportedly relocated to the Nashville area, purchased the property in 2020 for $2.125 million.

Mr. Baldoni recently starred in and directed the film “This Ends With Us,” along with Blake Lively and Ms. Baldoni. (Ms. Lively later sued Mr. Baldoni for harassment, retaliation and defamation.)

Built in 2003 in a Mediterranean style, the home has approximately 5,200 square feet of living space, five bedrooms, four and a half bathrooms, a full gym converted from a garage, and two laundry areas.

Amenities include an outdoor kitchen, saltwater pool and hot tub, fire pit, pickleball and basketball courts, in-ground LED-lit trampoline, putting green and koi pond with waterfall. There are also two imported domes on the property – one for yoga and the other for guests.

Lester Cook of Sotheby’s International Realty has the listing.

The Alburquerque home that played the role of Walter White’s home in the TV series “Breaking Bad” has sold for $1.3 million. The 1,910-square-foot, four-bedroom, two-bathroom home was first listed in early 2025 for $3.995 million. With no takers, it was taken off the market at the end of the year and relisted last month for $400,000, sparking a bidding war. Alicia Feil of Keller Williams Realty was the agent; Her colleague Ashley Shaffer represented the buyer.

The Brooklyn penthouse featured in the latest Spike Lee film “Highest 2 Lowest” starring Denzel Washington sold for $16.25 million, below the asking price of $17.5 million but still one of the most expensive sales in the borough’s history. The 4,928-square-foot apartment on the 32nd floor of the Olympia Dumbo condo has five bedrooms, four and a half bathrooms and a home office, as well as a 552-square-foot terrace.

The listing agents for Douglas Elliman are Jessica Peters, Carl Ekroth, Fredrick Eklund and John Gomes and for Sotheby’s Casey Heyman and Karen Heyman.

The Los Angeles estate where filmmaker David Lynch lived and worked for more than three decades has sold for $13 million – less than its asking price of $15 million six months ago. The buyer is unknown. Located on a nearly 2.5-acre hillside enclave in the Hollywood Hills, the property includes five main buildings totaling approximately 11,000 square feet and a total of 10 bedrooms and 11 bathrooms. Mr. Lynch died in January 2025.
