The 14-year-old opened up about why she sees her twin primarily as her only brother.
Mariah Carey's daughter Monroe Cannon has her own take on her blended family.
The 14-year-old took to Instagram to give more insight into her family dynamic. She told her followers that she only has one brother, twin Moroccan Cannon, who she officially recognizes from her father, Nick Cannon.
“I need to clear something up, guys,” she began, according to People. “I only have ONE brother, his name is @moroccan.cannon. I do have other half-siblings from my father, but they are all many, many years younger than me!”
Cannon, on the other hand, has 12 children with several women, so Monroe and Morrocan have several half-siblings. While the teenager noticed the other children, she also mentioned that they were much younger than her.
Despite his busy co-parenting schedule, Cannon maintains a close relationship with his two oldest children. His ex-wife Carey gave birth to the twins in 2011 before Cannon filed for divorce in 2014.
In 2017, he fathered a third child, Golden Cannon, with model Brittany Bell. With Bell, the 45-year-old got two more. He had two other children with Alyssa Scott, including Zen Cannon, who died of brain cancer in 2021 at the age of five months.
Cannon continued to build his legacy with several other children. However, he's still hoping for his first set of twins to keep him grounded.
“My daughter, really, she's so poised and wise and wise beyond her years,” he previously told the news outlet about his relationship with Monroe. “I have many therapists, but she is probably my best therapist.”
“She keeps me in check. She's so pure and honest. […] She is my oldest child. Even though they are twins, she came out first and let everyone know. She helped me stay strong.”
The relationship between him and her superstar mother remains secret. While Carey chooses not to talk about the father of her ex-husband and children, her daughter alludes to her own thoughts about his great lineage.
