The shares of nuclear power rose on Friday after President Donald Trump signed the instructions to revise the Nuclear Regulatory Commission and to accelerate the use of new reactors in the USA
Advanced reactor companies Ok Hey And Nuscale jumped by more than 27% or 18%. Constellation energyThe largest core operator in the USA rose by more than 2%. Cameco Corp.One of the largest uranium mountain people in the world rose by more than 10%.
Trump said the commands concentrated on small advanced reactors that many are viewed as a future by many in the industry. However, the president also said that his government was building large plants.
“We also talk about the big plants – the very, very large, the biggest,” said Trump. “We'll do it too, but I think our focus today is the smaller module.”
Trump's orders force the NRC to make decisions about nuclear license applications within 18 months and require a revision of the Commission. The president's orders also create regulatory framework for the departments for energy and defense in order to build nuclear reactors on state. His actions also aim to start the reduction of uranium in the United States and to extend the capacity of domestic uranium enrichment
The CEO of Constellation, Joe Dominguez and Oklo boss Jacob Dewitte, followed Trump at the signing ceremony in the Oval Office.
