Reality show crew bowls over pedestrians while filming in busy Toronto neighbourhood

People strolling through Kensington Market today had to brace themselves as The Amazing Race Canada came to film an episode on the neighborhood streets.

They didn’t hear the news via social media or a nice tip posted in the area, but when a camera crew channeled their inner offensive lineman and charged down the street in pursuit of a rival team.

Oh my god they are filming the incredible race in Kensington Market and literally people are being plowed over by the cameramen following the teams pic.twitter.com/oN7iWk5yid

The “Amazing Race” sees teams compete and follow each other through stages across the country in hopes of winning prizes.

A Twitter user asked what exactly they might be looking for in the market.

lmfao, this is a comedy, what do you want to find? the old cold tea? pic.twitter.com/LLgS3UuyHK

One of the duos ended up at the Fika Cafe on Kensington Ave.

The best branding probably came from the original poster herself, who remarked: “[the] The most sensible challenge is to send those teams on the east queen and get them to switch to the west queen, but whatever.”

Another user added that she encountered a camera crew tracking two people in Yorkville last week, so it seems this race is a wide field.

That makes sense now. Mom and I were in Yorkville last week and the whole street was full of two running men and a whole horde of cameramen. Then the tide changed and they changed direction. Complete chaos.
