Urbantoronto and the building show will return with a new free online meeting on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. With the title “The status of the state of housing in the GTA: Data, projects and guidelines”, this discussion will examine the options that the development community of the Toronto area – an area that is still exposed to an apartment crisis that is characterized by high costs, low vacancy rates and a significant lack of available living opportunities to cope with the problem, including new design ideas, which is new in the region Apartments can be new. Jaegap, who is recognized as an architect for his leadership, is an advocate of timeless projects that contribute to the social, economic and cultural structure of the built environment.

Deanna Chorney • Manager, politics, strategic initiatives, politics and analysis, city of Toronto,

Deanna Chorney is a project manager in the strategic initiatives, political and analysis group of the city of Toronto. In her current role, she works with a team of housing experts to maintain the supply of existing affordable living space through the city and to secure new affordable rental and condominiums. In recent years, she has headed the work of urban planning to receive the provincial legislation for integrated zoning powers and to develop an integrated zoning in Toronto Policy Framework. Deanna has spent a large part of her career in housing problems, including cooperation with Shelter, Support & Housing Administration for the previous development work for the revival of George Street and Seaton House, a large men's protection in the East Downtown. Deanna was also a voluntary board member at Houselink, a supportive housing provider in Toronto.

Michael Williams • Managing Partner & Head of Real Estate Development, Hazelview

Michael Williams joined Hazelview Investments in February 2020 as managing director of Development, Head of Development. In his current role, Michael keeps the monitoring of management in the execution and investment of HazelView in real estate developments. The effectiveness and integrity of execution are its central beliefs in the implementation of development initiatives in the entire company and in the market. Through his leadership, HazelView's development mandate with a focus on sustainable ideas, quality products, mentoring and team cooperation.
