It's that time again! After another 365 days of city-building, we're back with our 12th annual UrbanToronto year-end reader survey. Brought to you this year by our friends at Diverso Energy, the survey is your chance to vote on your favorite new builds completed in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton area in the last 12 months.
Included are projects where we have photographic confirmation of completed buildings, so some completions in 2025 may not appear in the survey until next year, while we include some projects that were completed in late 2024 but for which there were no good photographs at the time of the survey last year.
Although we provide an image for each building here, no building can be fully described with just one photo. So if you are not familiar with a project, you can click on the project link to go to its thread where you can find many more images. (The photographer's credit can also be found by clicking on the links.)
The survey includes 121 buildings, another record number, to choose from. Candidates are grouped into size categories so you can choose eight favorites, one per category:
- 6-7 floors – 14 projects
- 8 floors – 12 projects
- 9 floors – 7 projects
- 10 floors – 9 projects
- 11-13 floors – 11 projects
- 14-15 floors – 12 projects
- 16-19 floors – 12 projects
- 20-25 floors – 10 projects
- 26-32 floors – 11 projects
- 33-39 floors – 11 projects
- 40-49 floors – 5 projects
- Over 50 floors – 7 projects
If more than one building has been completed in a multi-stage project in 2025, the project will be found in the category that represents the tallest building in the project. So if both a 10-story and a 15-story project were completed this year, the project will appear in the category where other 15-story buildings are grouped.
Click here to vote – by January 11, 2026, 11:59 p.m. We will announce the winners in the second week of January.
In the meantime, keep spreading the word! The more votes, the better the survey reflects people's opinions about the region's development. You do not have to be an UrbanToronto member to vote. Express your opinion on this year's candidates and share the poll on social media using the hashtag #UrbanTorontoPoll. Click this link to take the survey now…and enjoy!
