Ripple Labs CEO Brad Garlinghouse will speak at DC Fintech Week in Washington, DC on Wednesday afternoon.
Ripple, the largest holder of XRP coins, won a partial victory last summer after a three-year legal battle with the US Securities and Exchange Commission. This was hailed as a groundbreaking success for the crypto industry because it set a precedent that could help determine when other cryptocurrencies could be considered securities. The SEC appealed that decision earlier this month.
Garlinghouse will discuss this lawsuit as well as Ripple's role in elucidating U.S. crypto regulation more broadly. He will also discuss the upcoming presidential election and his donations to Fairshake's cryptocurrency political action committee.
The CEO will also discuss why his company is entering the emerging stablecoin space this year with the launch of Ripple USD (RLUSD).
