Rogers Stadium Opens Sunday in Downsview as Toronto's Largest Outdoor Concert Venue

The new large-scale concert event location in Toronto will open this Sunday in North York, as the Rogers stadium is preparing to welcome up to 50,000 fans in the areas of downsview airport. The open-air facility will be built by Live Nation Canada as a temporary venue at a 44-hectare location in the Multiphase YzD renovation of Northcrest Developments and will start her first season with a headliner from Global K-Pop Group on June 29. The stadium, with a five-year lifespan of long-term life, which is before the long-term long-term experience, before the long-term long-term reduction, which has been designed before the long-term langer services, is the long-term audience that deals with long-term raid on the long-term air train on the long-term sheet.

At a recent event that took place days before the opening, the officials announced that fans who left Rogers Stadium concerts can drive free of charge throughout the TTC and GE -Transit all summer, a measure that should promote public transit as the main method to achieve the stadium. The venue is about 10 minutes walk from the downsview Park Go and the TTC station. Shuttlebuses and additional signs lead concert goers by train or the U -Bahn to the main entrances.

The Rogers Stadium is located on the 123 Garratt Boulevard with a 178,000 m² package and is part of the northernmost runway landscapes of the Downsview Airport. The venue is located in Runway Central and is located west of the Downsview Aerospace Campus of the Centennial College. The stadium is to serve as a seasonal concert goal from June to September and organize 12 to 15 large shows every year.

The venue is arranged in a horseshoe configuration with three scaffold-building stands, which frame a fixed central stage. The stands rise at about 22 m at the highest points and are disguised and graded with black weatherproof panels to deliver clear vision lines over the field. A wide central hall extends from the stage to the south, lined with tents, food sellers, washroom facilities and event infrastructure, including dedicated VIP areas and a ferris wheel. The entrance gates are located at the South End with a brand pavilion called Rogers Stadium.

Rogers Stadium is the first major installation that opens up within the downsview Lands renovation of Canada Lands Company and Northcrest Developments. The 520 hectare location is reinterpreted as a series of mixed use, transit-oriented communities, whereby the phased construction begins in 2026.

The plans for a quarter, the Hangar district, include over 2,850 houses with a focus on family units, six hectares of public parks and open spaces and around 270,000 m² of combined employment and commercial use, including film production facilities and offices in campus style. Around 140,000 m² of existing hangar structures are to be retrofitted, while geothermal energy and other sustainability characteristics should influence the infrastructure of the district. Adjacent districts such as Downsview West and Arbo will add thousands of other houses, including a significant share of affordable apartments.

The downsview land is expected to be developed into a mixed usage community of $ 30 billion in the next three decades, with living space, employment room, public amenities and new parks being combined. The temporary venue offers a way to activate part of the location, while the early infrastructure and maintenance work get going.

Live Nation announced plans for the Rogers Stadium in September 2024 and started construction shortly afterwards. After the stray kids, the concert will open a full summer line-up in large touring acts in Rogers Stadium this weekend and offers a committed space for large-scale concerts outside the city's busy venues in the city center. The acts confirmed for the first season include Coldplay, Oasis, Hozier and Blackpink. With a capacity that is not presented by another outdoor location in Toronto, the venue for international artists will be repeated during its five -year run. With the flexible design, the layout between the seasons can be reconsidered for various show formats.

The temporary structure of the Rogers Stadium was developed to coexist the early planning and maintenance work and to offer a preliminary use that activates the website without delaying long-term goals. After the breakdown, the area that occupies changes to a mixture of living space, employment areas and public amenities.
