OpenAI Researcher: Students Should Still Learn to Code

An Openai employee clarifies the “misinformation” online and informs Highschool students that he should “learn to cod”.

In an episode of the Openai podcast last week, the Openai researcher Szymon Sidor found that the students of the high school still benefit from the learning programs, although AI coding tools such as chatt and cursor automate the process.

Learning the code helps the students to develop problem solutions and critically thinking skills, said Sidor. He noticed that even if programming is out of date in the future, it is still a practical way to promote the ability to reduce and solve problems.

Relationships: According to AI coding tools, the working time of “four days to literally one hour”.

“An ability that is located on Premium and will continue to be at Premium is a really structured intellect that can disassemble complicated problems into pieces,” said Sidor in the podcast. “This may not be programmed in the future, but programming is a good way to acquire this ability.

Sidor agreed to the podcast moderator Andrew Mayne, who was previously Openai's Chief Science Communicator. Mayne explained that he had learned to code “later in life” and found it a useful basis for interaction with AI in order to develop precise commitments.

“Whenever I hear people say: 'Learn not to codize', I want an aircraft pilot who doesn't understand aerodynamics?” Said Mayne in the podcast. “That doesn't make sense for me.”

Although Mayne and Sidor may be of the opinion that the learning of code is fundamental and that it recommends the students of the high school, another AI manager presents a contrasting point of view. Jensen Huang, the CEO of Nvidia, the most valuable company in the world, said in June that AI can compensate for the technological competitive area and write every code by simply asking an AI bot in natural language.

Instead of learning Python or C ++, users KI can simply ask Ki to write a program, said Huang.

Relatives: AI will create more millionaires in the next 5 years than the Internet in 2 decades, according to the CEO of Nvidia

Big Tech company increasingly turn to AI to generate new code instead of writing it manually.

In April, Sundar Pichai, CEO from Google said that employees would use AI to write “well over 30%” of the new code on Google, which was recorded more than 25% in October. In the same month, Satya Nadella, CEO of Microsoft, said that engineers with AI write up to 30% of the code for corporate projects.
