Craft Residences has skyrocketed in Toronto's Junction neighborhood, almost reaching its peak in less than a year since construction began in February 2025. Designed by BDP Quadrangle for Gairloch Developments and Tenblock, the 9-story mid-rise is located between Gilmour and Quebec avenues and, with its stepped layout and rounded corner shape, is now clearly established on the western facade of Dundas Street.
Looking northwest in May 2025, excavation work for the single underground level is well underway. In the foreground, a staged excavation at the southeast corner closest to the camera shows the progress of soil removal as a yellow crawler excavator advances further into the site along with smaller compact tracked machines. On the back of the picture, the shoring system that lines the north facade can be clearly seen.

At the end of the month, a mobile crane is captured mid-mission while being used to assemble the crane. Its boom lifts the operator's cab and the crane's tower top into position behind trees, while the crane mast already extends over the road. Traffic control measures and lane reductions are visible below.

When inspecting the site in August 2025, Craft Residences noted that it had already achieved plan the previous month, with early structural elements taking shape around the crane near the northwest corner. Visible are concrete walls with protruding reinforcing bars adjacent to the formwork and construction crews gathered in the middle of the construction site. Materials and prefabricated components are staged along the Dundas Street facade.

Six floors have been built by December 2025. Vertical precast concrete elements are now being installed along the west facade, dividing the facade into an alternating pattern of vertical composite bricks and vertical support bricks before insulation and cladding. A stepback is visible on the fifth floor along the south facade.

Looking to the northwest, fencing work is progressing along the south and east facades, with green weatherstripping being installed on the second and third floors prior to cladding installation, and white sheeting being used to protect the lower levels adjacent to the existing low-rise buildings. The geometry of the south facade is now clearly visible. The staggered floor plates form projecting and recessed bays, creating an angular structure for the street-facing profile along Dundas. A translucent tarpaulin can be seen on the sixth floor, and the formwork for the upcoming concreting process on the seventh floor is already in place.

Later that month, the Craft Residences spanned seven floors, with the entire south facade covered in green weatherproofing up to the fifth floor. A construction elevator is installed near the center of the Dundas Street facade. Above, behind another setback on the seventh floor, the formwork for the concrete pouring of the ceiling on the eighth floor is visible. On the slope, a white tarp conceals openings where residential and retail entrances are being prepared, with parapet glazing for opaque sections of the window wall system above, while on the west facade, pre-installation brick cladding components are visible, to be complemented by glass balcony railings.

Once completed, the Craft Residences will be 36m tall and contain 87 condominiums.
