His employer, which had a contract with FedEx, fired him after he claimed his video violated company policy.
A former FedEx driver is looking for a new job after being verbally abused by a racist woman during his shift.
Doug Ahmed says his contractor fired him after a video of the incident in San Diego went viral in January. Now he survives unemployment, which he says represents a gap in justice.
According to Atlanta Black Star, the alleged racist encounter actually occurred in October 2025. Ahmed was in the middle of his shift when a woman complained about his driving.
While the woman initially accused him of speeding, which the FedEx driver denied, the conversation took a racist turn. Another TikTok user reshared the viral video.

“I know the speed limit here. I was hit by a garbage truck,” she said in the video.
Ahmed was convinced of his truth and even offered the woman a company phone number where she could call and file a complaint. However, she responded with insults, including the N-word.
“No, son of a bitch. You’re a FedEx nigger,” she replied. “You ain’t shit… this is Chula Vista, buddy,” she screamed.
The racist woman continued to call him the N-word, prompting Ahmed to ask for the unit number to avoid meeting again. In an additional clip, the woman was also seen blocking his exit from the complex, escalating tensions.
I can’t believe this is happening,” he told KGTV Channel 10 News. “In the seven years I’ve worked at FedEx, this is the first time I’ve ever been called the N-word at work.”
But shortly after he posted the violation on TikTok, he said the company fired him for violating its policies. He told the outlet that his resignation letter stated that he showed the company name and the FedEx truck, which led to his firing.
Despite the violations, he says the firing only makes the injury worse.
He continued: “Posting a video and then getting fired is like a double slap in the face.”
Now his family has launched a GoFundMe to help him get back on his feet after he suffered the most from the racist encounter.
“While he was doing his job and delivering packages, he was confronted and picked up by a local resident,” the fund said. “During the incident he was verbally abused, threatened and racially abused. He remained calm and professional throughout the interaction.”
So far, the crowdfunding effort has raised just over $4,000 toward its $10,000 goal. However, Ahmed and his family hope that their community will help him move to a new company that is understanding of his situation.
It continued: “Shortly after it went viral, my brother was laid off from his job. This fundraiser will help bridge the gap while he looks for new work and supports his family.”
