Morgan State University has announced that its senior associate athletics director and chief revenue officer Sterling Steward died.
No cause of death was unveiled, but the school recognized its contributions since its hiring in December 2022.

Steward died on February 26th. In the state of Morgan, he was responsible for promoting the university's programs, promoting partnerships and strengthening the department's financial and operational success.
“Sterling was more than a colleague was a respected leader, mentor and friend,” said Dena Freeman-Patton, Vice President and Director of Intercollegiate Athletics, in a written explanation. “His passion for athletics and his commitment to increasing Morgan's programs were obvious in everything he did. He worked tirelessly to ensure that our athletes have the resources and opportunities to exceed, and its effects will be felt in the coming years. We extend our deepest condolences to his family and his relatives, especially his three sons and his sister, while we mourn this enormous loss. “
While Steward worked at Morgan State, there was strategic growth and cooperation. His work with the division of institutional progress has contributed to offering more opportunities and created permanent relationships to support the school's sports programs.
Steward previously worked at the University of New Orleans (UN) as deputy athletics director of the school for strategic revenue generation. He was also in various functions Athletics.
It comes from New Orleans, who received Bachelor and Master deals from the University of Southern Mississippi. He acquired his bachelor in coaching and sports management/history as well as his master's degree in sports management.
