Former NBC cable president Tom Rogers will choose his bullishness back Netflix.
The media trail blazer, who was a self-proclaimed “Raging Bull” on Netflix, told CNBCs “Fast Money” this week, he started to worry-and listed the competition with free content on YouTube as a headwind.
“[Netflix] Despite it [has] More hit shows than all other streaming services together, but when you look at the growth of your sub[scriber] Basically and take a look at the amount of the entire engagement time from all spectators, the consideration per viewer has reduced some, ”said Rogers, who is now an Executive Chairman of the AI Company Claigrid.
According to Nielsen, Netflix recorded the largest monthly viewer towards his colleagues in June in June. However, YouTube accounted for 13% of the total monthly TV viewer, while Netflix had 8%.
Rogers' recent attitude takes place after Netflix provided a positive quarterly report on July 17.
“There was nothing to complain about that his income would not be canceled at all,” said Rogers, who is also more acting with CNBC. “But commitment is what drives everything here. The amount of consideration receives it, it promotes the price increases that drive the programming budget forward, which drives more great programs.”
Netflix defeated the second quarter with the estimates of the upper and upper line and increased its instructions for the overall year. However, since his winning report, the streamer share has declined by about 6% and has now dropped by almost 11% since he reached a record high on June 30th.
Rogers also predicts that artificial intelligence will be a “double -edged sword” for Netflix at short notice. On the one hand, he said that it would support the targeted advertising of the streamer and reduce the programming costs. However, it also enables independent content manufacturers a leg that YouTube benefits.
“The border between professional and amateur content will be more and more blurred, since AI tools can produce things in the hands of amateurs that look incredibly professional,” he said. “I think AI in the hands of the creative community of YouTube could create a measure of professional programming for YouTube that drives his audience even further.”
The parent company of YouTube, alphabetis up by 2% of the year.
However, Rogers still sees Netflix as the most valuable media company in the world. However, he said that a delay was “something to be observed”.
Netflix spokesman Emily Goldstein postponed the comment on the company's profit call in the second quarter.
