As of UrbanToronto’s last update in February 2026, construction continues to progress on Phase 2 of The Residences at Central Park, where substructure work is progressing on the shared underground parking garage beneath Amexon Development Corporation’s planned residential development at Leslie Street and Sheppard Avenue East. Designed by Core Architects, the 12-acre project includes five residential buildings ranging from 12 to 31 stories on the eastern edge of Bayview Village in North York, adjacent to the East Don River Gorge and within walking distance of the Leslie Station on the Sheppard Line 4. Current efforts are focused on the basement level, where formwork and foundation work expands the continuous parking structure that will connect all phases of the project.
Looking northeast across the site this month, the Phase 1 tower rises in the background to its full 31-story height, with glazing and balcony assemblies fully installed and a six-story podium clearly articulated by vertical precast bands. In the foreground, activity is focused on Phase 2, where three cranes are positioned over an active construction zone and substructure work is progressing. Between the two phases, staging areas are filled with bundled material, formwork components and construction equipment.

Phase 1 of the development is now virtually complete and is preparing for the first occupancies at the end of this month. The 31-story tower soars and features the project’s signature glass screens with a willow leaf motif. Its six-story podium is defined by vertical precast cladding and houses a range of indoor and outdoor spaces, including a double-height fitness area and shared social amenities. Supporting infrastructure provided in this phase includes the completed Green Trail Road.

Phase 2 is a cluster consisting of one 19-story and two 31-story towers rising from a common podium. The podium will include approximately 35,000 square meters of retail space as well as additional leisure space. This phase will expand the continuous underground parking network, equipped with electric vehicle charging facilities at each stand, and further define internal roadsides and pedestrian connections throughout the site.

Future phases will complete the master plan with five buildings, including a 12-story building on the northern edge of the site, as well as the full realization of Central Park Common, the three-acre landscaped open space at the heart of the community. Planned features include a central lawn, wooden seating platforms, café-style areas and a trellis pavilion, all connected by a network of pedestrian promenades and a glazed canopy marking internal circulation routes. A new staircase will connect the development directly to the East Don Gorge trail system, supported by slope stabilization and riprap reinforcement along the valley edge.

When fully developed, the municipality will build 1,478 residential units in buildings with a height of 46.5 m to 105.9 m.
