The beauty of living in Toronto is that it gives you multiple opportunities to visit the great art galleries for FREE at cheap, low prices.
The Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) Toronto offers free admission on Fridays from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and the first Sunday of every month.
You can spend an evening at the art exhibitions like Remediation by Kapwani Kiwanga or have an outdoor augmented reality experience with Seeing the Invisible.
Until the end of April, MOCA will feature Susan For Susan’s play Trade Show and The New Alphabet by Athena Papadopoulsos.
A mesmerizing and immersive installation is ni4ni (v.3) by Serkin Ă–zkaya, which uses reflections to transform a human-sized sphere into an eyeball and projections onto the entire surrounding walls.
Visit MOCA.ca to book your tickets in advance.
The Art Gallery of Ontario (AGO) also offers select free evenings for its collections. Visits are free every Wednesday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
AGO’s current exhibition Leonard Cohen: Everybody Knows is on view now and only until April 10th.
Until June 11, you can view the You Look Beautiful Like That: Studio Photography in West and Central Africa collection.
Standing tickets are released on Mondays at 10am for the following Wednesday night only. You need a valid email address to book up to four tickets for the selected evening. Get your free AGO tickets on their website.
