In February Love was charged with an incident in a hotel for assault.
A judge in San Diego decided this week that there was enough evidence to continue with charges for crimes against actors and comedians Faizon Love after he allegedly threw a credit card reader into a hotel employee and put them in the head.
Love that is widely recognized for roles in films such as “Elf”, “Friday” and “Couple's retreat” is charged with a fatal weapon due to a crime, together with an improvement to add large physical injuries. He did not know his guilty.
According to the NBC San Diego, the incident in question took place in August when Love reported that he had learned from the hotel employees that the property had no vacancies despite its booking by an app app. During a preliminary hearing, the alleged victim said that love escalated quickly.
“Mr. Love was very annoyed. It was very quickly to 100,” she told the court. “He repeatedly asked if we knew who he was.”
The woman said she said his behavior was unacceptable before he allegedly pulled the credit card reader from the counter and hurled her on her. “Mr. Love looked at me directly, took off the credit card machine and threw it in my direction,” she said.
She looked for medical help hours after the incident and was diagnosed with a concussion. She said that she continues to have persistent effects, including sensitivity to light.
However, the lawyer of Love, Marc Kligman, questioned the credibility of the certificate, which indicated what was impossible to assemble the martial assembly of women and the explanations of the police and a 911 dispatcher on the night of the incident. Body Camera film material from the San Diego police was played to emphasize inconsistencies.
Kligman also questioned the testimony of two employees who said they had witnessed the attack. One admitted that he hadn't really hit the employee and only heard the sound.
“What should the court stop?
He also suggested that the employee could be motivated by the financial profit because she submitted a civil lawsuit that requested compensation for medical expenses and emotional trauma. “I think there is a number of motivation for you to invent and overdo it,” added Kligman.
Despite these arguments, Richter Rohanee Zapanta found a probable reason to continue. Love was charged and a legal proceedings are planned for January. If he is convicted, he is up to seven years in prison.
